ATHEIST is the one who do not believe in the presence of any omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient God.
An atheist is not the one who is rival of God and nor the one who believes or declares himself to be the supreme human being (God). This is so because in both the cases an existence to God is provided which is an antithesis of atheism.
But let me make it clear that it is the insecurity or weaknesses in the human minds to shoulder the responsibility and face the distress which make them bow their heads. In other words it could be said that human has created the god and not the otherwise.
It could be said by few that it is due to vanity (ahankaar) a person pretends to give up the faith in God. But it is not so. It is in fact the self confidence to face the worst to worst situations without sharing the burden with any self –created, non-existing and hypothetic power or person.
Yes I m an atheist and committed to stand like a man with an erect head to the last, even on the gallows.

update the blog...been a longgg time...!
just wanted to make a brief comment anuj.....! its just that we know god with different names...n even though some may say (like u do!) that he does not exist....hez there as a part of our lives! its just that the way we see him is different.....some see him as "peace of mind"...some as "some force which helps us stand by the difficult times"....n some...as "commitment to stand like a man with an erect head to the last, even on the gallows"..like "YOU" do!
